Irish Champions Weekend is home to the best two days of Irish flat racing. The opening day coinciding with the final day of the St Leger Festival at Doncaster. It makes for a compelling 48 hours.

The highlight at Leopardstown on Saturday is the Irish Champions Stakes. The best horse in the world, Ghaiyyath, is heading over the Irish Sea for Charlie Appleby, to take on Ireland’s best. Magical and Japan lead the challenge, with French raider Sottsass adding another dimension to this fascinating contest.

Sunday at the Curragh features four Group 1’s. The National Stakes and Moyglare Stakes are the leading events for two year olds in the season. Then we have the speedsters in the Flying Five and the polar opposite with stayers in the Irish St Leger.

The best of the best compete and Irish Champions Weekend is not to be missed.
